This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles user data. Flowly is built with an offline-first, privacy-by-design architecture: all your health and cycle data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to any external servers.

A. Health and Personal Information You Provide

When using Flowly, you may log personal health data, including:

  • Menstrual cycle dates (period start and end dates).

  • Flow intensity, symptoms, mood tags, cramps intensity, intimacy logs, and personal notes.

  • Cycle settings (average cycle length, period duration, luteal phase length).

  • App security preferences (such as your 4-digit PIN lock code).

B. Storage Location & Data Sovereignty

  • 100% On-Device Storage: All health logs, cycle history, and settings are saved exclusively in a local SQLite database (Room database) on your device.

  • No Cloud Synchronization: We do not transmit, sync, or back up your health logs to our servers or any cloud database.

  • No Account Creation: You do not need to register with an email address, phone number, or social media profile to use Flowly.

3. Permissions Used by the Application

Flowly requests only the minimum permissions necessary to operate:

  • Notifications / Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used solely to schedule local on-device reminders for upcoming period predictions, fertile windows, or daily symptom logging.

  • No Sensitive Hardware Permissions: The app does not access your location, camera, microphone, or external media storage without explicit user interaction.

4. Third-Party Services & Analytics

  • No Third-Party Tracking / Ad Networks: Flowly does not use advertising SDKs, data brokers, or behavioral analytics trackers.

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, lease, or monetize your health information under any circumstances.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

  • In-App PIN Passcode: You can set a 4-digit PIN lock within the app to prevent unauthorized access by anyone who uses your physical device.

  • Sandboxed Storage: Android’s app sandboxing prevents other applications on your device from accessing Flowly's internal database.

6. User Control, Export & Deletion

You retain full ownership and control of your data at all times:

  • Export Data: You can export all your cycle logs and symptom history into a portable JSON backup file directly from the Settings screen.

  • Delete Data: You can clear or reset all stored health logs at any time directly in the app’s Settings by tapping "Reset & Clear All Data".

  • App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data and internal database files from your device.

7. Children’s Privacy

Flowly is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Medical Disclaimer

Flowly is designed for personal menstrual tracking and wellness estimation purposes only. It is not a medical device, contraceptive method, or diagnostic tool. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or family planning decisions.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
